PRIVACY POLICY
Effective Date: March 11, 2026
MeepMeep Games ("we", "us", or "our") develops and distributes PC and mobile games (collectively, our "Services"). This Privacy Policy explains what information is collected when you use our Services, how it is used, the legal bases on which we rely, who it is shared with, and the rights you have. By using our Services, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy.
Our Services are distributed through third-party platforms (such as Steam) and are built using the Unreal Engine and Unity game engines. These platforms and engines, together with the analytics providers listed below, may independently collect information about you as separate data controllers under their own privacy policies, which are linked in this document.
Information We Collect
We collect only the information needed to develop, maintain, and improve our games. This may include:
- Technical and device data: device model and characteristics, operating system and version, hardware and graphics settings, language and region, and Internet Protocol ("IP") address.
- Gameplay and usage data: in-game events, progression, feature usage, session length, performance metrics, and settings or configuration at the time of use.
- Diagnostic and crash data: error logs, crash reports, and stack traces generated when the software encounters a problem, together with the date and time of the event.
- Platform identifiers: pseudonymous identifiers provided by the distribution platform (for example, a Steam ID or a device advertising identifier).
We do not intentionally collect sensitive personal information, and we do not ask you to provide your name, postal address, or payment details directly through the game. Any purchases are handled by the distribution platform (such as Steam), not by us.
How We Use Your Information and Legal Basis
We use the information described above solely for development and operational purposes, namely: to identify, diagnose, and fix bugs and crashes; to understand how our games are used so we can improve gameplay, balance, and performance; to maintain the security and integrity of our Services; and to comply with applicable legal obligations.
Where the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies, we rely on our legitimate interests in developing, securing, and improving our games as the legal basis for this processing, and, where required, on your consent (which you may withdraw at any time). We do not use your information for advertising or profiling, and we do not sell your personal information.
Third-Party Services
Our Services use the following third-party engines, platforms, and analytics providers. Each acts under its own privacy policy, and we encourage you to review them:
- Unreal Engine / Epic Games
- Unity (including Unity Analytics)
- Steam / Valve Corporation (including Steam analytics)
These providers may process your data on servers located outside your country, including in the United States. Where personal data is transferred internationally, such transfers are governed by the respective provider's safeguards (for example, Standard Contractual Clauses).
Data Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share information only with the third-party service providers listed above, strictly to the extent necessary to provide and improve our Services, and we may disclose information where required by law, regulation, legal process, or enforceable governmental request, or to protect our rights, safety, or property.
Data Retention
We retain diagnostic, crash, and analytics data only for as long as necessary for the development and operational purposes described in this policy, after which it is deleted or anonymized. Data held by third-party providers is retained in accordance with their own retention policies.
Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to the processing of your personal information, to data portability, and to withdraw consent. To exercise these rights, contact us at info@meepmeepgames.com. Because much of the data we handle is pseudonymous, we may need additional information to locate records associated with you. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
Security
We use commercially reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the information handled through our Services. However, no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children's Privacy
Our Services are not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction, such as 16 in parts of the EEA). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under that age. If we become aware that we have collected such information without appropriate consent, we will delete it promptly. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Effective Date" above and posting the revised policy on this page. Your continued use of our Services after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
